The Jones Files: Tales of Misfortune and Other Hilarious Things
By some bizarre cosmic twist, my family exists in a weird world where things happen to us that seem impossible outside of the confines of a sitcom. Granted, it would have to be on cable, since quite a few of the goings-on are R-rated, but there has been an inordinately large number of hilarious misadventures in my family.
That being said, I would be remiss if I didn’t share these stories with friends and strangers all! I will tell you upfront — these stories are all true, although I may have embellished for humour, and possibly to make them flow better, I may have altered time lines. But everything in these stories happened, to me, or my family, or friends and has become the stuff of legend at gatherings, where people beg me to regale them with tales of misery about the Jones’, which are just so funny to everyone else.
Below, you’ll find assorted stories of Jonsian suffering, in all their comedic glory. Thrill to the highs of blazing logs flying through the sky. Chill to the lows of one man’s forbidden love of a machine. Or simply enjoy a story or two about people eating things that weren’t meant to be eaten.
